Privacy notice
Nanikore is a product in development for foreign residents in Japan. This page exists to find out whether people want it. Here is everything it collects and why. We handle personal information in line with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
What we collect
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and the language of the page you signed up on | Only if you sign up | To send one email asking you to confirm the address, then to email you about early access and your spot |
| Plan you picked, and whether you asked to reserve a founding spot | Only if you choose | To learn which price people would pay |
| Anonymous usage events: page viewed, scrolled halfway, buttons clicked, a random session ID, and the ad or link that brought you (UTM tags, Google Ads click IDs such as gclid, referring site) | While you browse | To measure interest and compare traffic sources |
The confirmation email
When you sign up we send one email with a link to confirm the address (double opt-in). Until you confirm, we send nothing else, except a new link if you sign up again (at most once every 10 minutes). The link expires after 7 days; we store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it. Every email has a link that deletes your address in one click. The email delivery provider will be named here before emails are switched on.
Information sent to Google (Google Ads tag)
When we advertise with Google Ads, this site loads Google’s advertising tag (gtag.js), which makes your browser send information directly to Google. This is the notice on external transmission required by Japan’s Telecommunications Business Act.
| Recipient | Google LLC (USA), the Google Ads service |
|---|---|
| Information sent | The page address you visit and the referring page; the ad click ID (gclid, gbraid or wbraid) if you came from an ad; cookie identifiers Google sets on this site (such as _gcl_aw and _gcl_au); your IP address, browser and device type; and whether you completed a signup or confirmed your email. Your email address is not sent to Google. |
| Purpose | To measure which ads lead to signups and confirmations, so we can stop ads that don’t work |
| How Google uses it | How Google uses information from sites that use its services · Google Privacy Policy |
| Opting out | My Ad Center, or block cookies for this site in your browser. The page works without them. |
The tag is only loaded while we run Google ads. Apart from it, there are no third-party trackers; fonts are served from this site.
What we don’t collect
- No letters, documents, residence-card images, My Number or ID data. This page has no upload.
- No payment or card details. Nothing is charged.
- We don’t store your IP address. It is used briefly in memory to block spam, then discarded. (Google receives it through its tag, as described above.)
Sharing
We don’t sell or rent your data. It is stored with our hosting and database provider (Cloudflare) only to run this page; Google receives the information described above. If a provider stores data outside Japan, we will name the country here before launch.
How long we keep it
Until the product launches or the test ends, then we delete it unless you’ve become a user. You can delete your address at any time with the link in our email, or ask us to.
Your choices and contact
Ask us to see, correct or delete your data by writing to privacy@nanikore.example.
